Burning the Candle on Both Ends
This last week has been one of the most retarded weeks I've had in a long time.
It started with travel down to Savannah for work for the first half of the week. I flew home for about 24 hours, just enough time to unpack, ramrod a midterm for school, and repack for a flight to California. My brother Steve and I had an FKT attempt planned. More on that to come.
Needless to say, I've been burning it on both ends all week long. I don't remember the last time I got more than 3-4 hours sleep. Definitely not within the last four days. I might have been lucky enough to log 6 hours one or two of the nights earlier in the week. I acknowledge this as a scarlet letter, not a badge of honor. As I write, I'm sitting at the airport terminal, waiting to board my flight home from California.
Seven days, four flights. One midterm. 26 plus hours of driving. Over 50 miles of running and hiking in one 24-hour pull. Approximately 11,000 vertical feet, including tagging the summit of the highest mountain peak in the continental US.
This FKT was one of the most challenging, difficult, and rewarding experiences I've ever gone through. So stay dialed in if you're interested in knowing more.
